Call for papers on corruption prevention and AI, ahead of the 5th Anti-Corruption Academic Symposium in December 2025 in Doha, Qatar

5th Anti-Corruption Academic Symposium -13-14 December 2025, Doha, Qatar

UNODC under the GRACE Initiative (Global Resource for Anti-Corruption Education and Youth Empowerment) is organising the 5th Anti-Corruption Academic Symposium, and invites submissions from academics, practitioners, policymakers, civil society actors, and youth on how AI can be applied responsibly and effectively in the fight against corruption.

This symposium offers a unique opportunity to:

  • Share cutting-edge ideas and showcase real-world examples demonstrating how AI can strengthen transparency and accountability.
  • Engage in dialogue with leading researchers, practitioners, and policymakers shaping the global anti-corruption and AI governance agendas.
  • Build networks across regions, sectors, and disciplines, creating opportunities for future collaboration.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping the landscape of anti-corruption efforts. From detecting fraud in public procurement to uncovering illicit financial flows and enabling citizenled oversight, AI offers unprecedented opportunities to fight corruption. Scientific advances in predictive modelling, anomaly detection, and natural language processing demonstrate AI’s potential to transform transparency, accountability, and governance.

This symposium will bring together researchers, practitioners, policymakers and youth to explore how AI can be responsibly and effectively applied in anti-corruption. UNODC welcomes contributions that span disciplines, blend theoretical and empirical insights, and apply AI anticorruption tools in the real world.

Important dates:

  • Abstract submission deadline: 21 September 2025
  • Notification of acceptance: 15 October 2025
  • Anti-Corruption Symposium: 13–14 December 2025, Doha, Qatar.
