Corvinus University Receives the 2026 IFUA Horváth Green Wheel Award for Sustainability Governance
On May 21st, Corvinus University of Budapest received the 2026 IFUA Horváth Green Wheel Award in the institutional category. The award is the highest recognition for business management solutions that align with Hungary's eco-friendly sustainability efforts.
The application from Corvinus University of Budapest stood out for its content: an integrated sustainability governance approach that wasn’t an add-on, but was applied across the entire management and operational system. Key elements of the Corvinus model include measurable results, data-driven decision-making, and the alignment of educational activities, operational processes, and the partner ecosystem. One of the initiative's main strengths is its long-term development potential: through students, it extends to broader spheres of the economy and society, shaping economic and social decision-making over time. This model shows how organizations can begin to see sustainability as a core part of governance and leadership rather than a separate element.
The IFUA Horváth Green Wheel Awards were presented by Irén Márta, Managing Director of the Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary, Eörs Huba, Managing Partner of IFUA Horváth, and Nóra Stancsics, Principal at IFUA Horváth, and accepted by Katalin Ásványi, Dean for Sustainability at Corvinus University of Budapest.
