About
The EAUC is the environmental and sustainability champion within Further and Higher Education in the UK and Ireland, founded in 1996. We are a Member association supporting Universities and Colleges across the UK and Ireland.
Over the last five to ten years, there has been an increasing awareness within the Further and Higher Education sector of the need to address environmental issues both operationally, as businesses, and within the curriculum. As a result, an increasing number of staff have been given responsibility to progress the environmental agenda, either as dedicated environmental advisors or as part of an existing post.
Membership of the EAUC has grown in number as a result of commitment to environmental and sustainability issues within the FHE sector. With around 300 institutional members, the EAUC is an influential voice within the sector.
EAUC is the coordinator of the International Green Gown Awards and an affiliate Member of IAU (since June 2024).
