Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre

Founded in 1961, the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA) is Brazil’s only federal higher-education institution dedicated exclusively to Health Sciences. Its mission is to produce and share knowledge and educate health professionals with humanistic values and social responsibility, aspiring to be an innovative, inclusive institution with international research impact. UFCSPA has over 5,000 enrolled students and 600 academic and administrative staff, offering undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs, specializations, and medical and multidisciplinary residencies across Medicine, Nursing, Nutrition, Psychology, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, and related fields. Its strengths include health research, clinical practice, innovation, and community health, supported by modern laboratories, auditoriums, a specialized library, and partnerships with major healthcare institutions.
