The RADIANT Project fuels Innovation in Sustainable Agriculture
The RADIANT project, coordinated in part by the Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry at Catholic University of Portugal (UCP), concluded in 2025 after three years of advancing sustainable agriculture across Europe. Funded under the Horizon 2020 programme, the initiative brought together a wide consortium of universities, research institutes, and agricultural stakeholders. It focused on promoting underutilised and climate-resilient crops to strengthen biodiversity, food sovereignty, and adaptation strategies for farmers. Through field trials, knowledge-sharing workshops, and policy dialogues, RADIANT connected researchers, farmers, and decision-makers to scale greener agricultural practices. In doing so, it supported the objectives of the European Green Deal and the SDGs. The project underscores UCP’s leadership in sustainability through innovation, applied research, and international collaboration to build a more resilient and environmentally responsible food system.
