University of Ghana Leads Policy Dialogue on Climate Resilience

The University of Ghana, through its Collaborative on Climate Resilience and Sustainability (UG-CCReS) initiative, supported by the Mastercard Foundation, is at the forefront of advancing research and policy dialogue to enhance climate resilience among vulnerable populations.

As part of this ongoing commitment, UG-CCReS recently convened a high-level policy dialogue to foster strategic collaboration and generate actionable responses to the impacts of climate change, under the theme "Supporting Resilience Against the Effects of Climate Change in Vulnerable Groups."

The event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from academia, industry, government agencies, non-governmental organisations, and the media. Discussions centred on:

  • Promoting inclusive climate resilience strategies
  • Developing evidence-based policies to protect vulnerable groups
  • Strengthening multi-sectoral partnerships to drive long-term, sustainable impact

This initiative reflects the University of Ghana’s leadership in integrating sustainability and equity into national and regional climate response efforts.
