School of Ecology & Environmental Science at YNU

The School of Ecology and Environmental Science at Yunnan University, founded in 2014 in Kunming, leads the university’s “first-class disciplines” in ecology and environment. With 129 faculty members and programs spanning bachelor’s to postdoctoral levels, it offers three majors—Ecology, Environmental Science and Engineering, and Plant Science and Technology—two of which are national first-class programs. Building on 70+ years of ecological education, the school promotes a “New Ecology” model that integrates interdisciplinary research, biodiversity conservation, environmental remediation, and sustainable agriculture. Strong global partnerships and a 95% graduate employment rate underscore its role in training future ecological leaders.
