GREEN UMA Hackathon

The first GREEN UMA Hackathon, organized by the UNESCO Chair on Higher Education for Sustainable Development in Africa on 2 February 2026, brought together students from GREEN Clubs at the University of La Manouba for an intensive 24-hour interdisciplinary collaboration. Participants developed concrete, high-impact solutions to sustainably transform their campus through technological innovation.

The hackathon fostered creativity, constructive critical thinking, and a strong sense of community, with projects addressing themes such as living labs, digitalization of resources, energy and water efficiency, geolocation, and inclusive communication.

The event concluded with awards to three winning interdisciplinary teams, and was supported by strategic and socially responsible partners, including BNA – Banque Nationale Agricole and the UN Global Compact Network Tunisia.
