The FREE Project
The Modern University for Business and Science (MUBS) is a proud partner in the FREE Project (Female Academic Role Model Empowerment, Equality and Sustainability at Universities in the Mediterranean Region: Towards 2030 Agenda), an Erasmus+ KA2 initiative focused on capacity building in the field of higher education.
The project aims to strengthen higher education institutions in Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan by empowering female academics and promoting gender equality and sustainability in academic environments. Through a combination of training, institutional development, and research collaboration, FREE supports the advancement of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, particularly SDG 5: Gender Equality and SDG 4: Quality Education.
Key Objectives of the FREE Project:
- Empower female academics and professionals through targeted training workshops
- Improve the governance and operations of higher education institutions by establishing equality and sustainability centers and services
- Advance research and innovation through the creation of a collaborative regional network focused on gender issues in higher education
As a project partner, MUBS contributes to both the academic and operational dimensions of the FREE initiative, including hosting trainings, supporting institutional change, and strengthening its own Center for Equality and Sustainable Development (ESD). The FREE Project reflects MUBS’ broader institutional commitment to equity, empowerment, and inclusive excellence in higher education across the Mediterranean region.
