The Water Institute (WI), established in 2008 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, is a higher learning institution dedicated to advancing education, research, and innovation in the water sector. Its mission is to produce competent professionals equipped with practical and scientific knowledge to manage and develop water resources sustainably. With a diverse community of students and qualified academic staff, WI offers diploma and degree programs in areas such as water supply engineering, hydrology and irrigation, environmental engineering, and water laboratory technology. The institute’s research focuses on water resource management, climate resilience, and sanitation solutions, contributing to national and regional development goals through partnerships with government, academia, and industry.
