The University of West Attica (UNIWA), established in 2018 through the merger of the Technological Educational Institutes of Athens and Piraeus, now enrolls approximately 57,800 undergraduates, 5,500 postgraduates, and 780 doctoral candidates, supported by 608 faculty, 138 technical staff, and 345 administrative staff. Its mission emphasizes excellence, innovation, and societal relevance. The university offers programs through its Schools of Engineering; Public Health; Administrative, Economic & Social Sciences; Food Sciences; Health & Care Sciences; and Applied Arts & Culture. Research strengths include sustainable energy systems, environmental protection, health sciences, informatics, materials & design, and port development. UNIWA operates multiple urban campuses, modern infrastructure, student housing initiatives, and maintains international academic partnerships and membership in sustainability networks.
