Paris 8 University Vincennes–Saint-Denis was established in 1969 with a mission to promote critical thinking, creativity, and social engagement through innovative teaching and research. Home to around 22,000 students and 900 academic and administrative staff, the university offers programs across the humanities, social sciences, arts, communication, economics, law, and digital technologies. Paris 8 is renowned for its pioneering research in philosophy, gender studies, education, and media studies, fostering interdisciplinary approaches to contemporary global challenges. Global Collaboration 

Paris-VIII is well-connected with other institutions of higher education and has over 250 partnerships with universities around the world. They include UC Berkeley, the Beijing Film Academy, Boston University, the Free University of Berlin, the Humboldt University of Berlin, the University of Vienna as well as since 2016 the University of Rojava. Students are encouraged to spend one or two semesters at a neighbouring institution in the US, Canada, Latin America, Asia or Europe in order to develop their language skills and cultural understanding. Alternatively, students also have the possibility to teach French in a high school abroad or to complete an internship.
