About
Ludovika University of Public Service (NKE) was established in 2012, via merger of several institutions and currently enrolls about 6,200 students and employs over 1,000 academic and administrative staff combined. It is dedicated to training public service professionals grounded in integrity, excellence, and service to the homeland. The university offers programs through its faculties of Military Science and Officer Training, Law Enforcement, Public Governance & International Studies, Water Sciences, and Teacher Training. Its research strengths lie in public administration, governance, security studies, water diplomacy, disaster management, public policy, cyber-government, and state legitimacy. Its campus combines historic and modern buildings with advanced facilities, and it sustains international partnerships in Europe and beyond.
Sustainability at NKE
NKE is committed to embedding sustainability across its mission and daily life. It promotes a “green service” culture through sustainability strategy and transition planning, integrates sustainability into curricula and research, encourages eco-responsible campus operations, and engages with policy and community partners. These efforts support alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals—especially clean water, climate action, responsible institutions, and education—while steering the institution toward exemplary governance and societal resilience.
