About

The Higher Institute of Commerce of Kisangani (ISC-Kisangani), founded in 1981, is a leading institution dedicated to training professionals in commerce, finance, management information systems, and related fields. Its existence dates back to Lubumbashi, where it functioned as the Institute of Personnel Management and Work Organization "IGEPOT", created in 1967 on the initiative of GECAMINES (Générale des Carrières et des Mines), for the training of management executives for it and for other local companies. Guided by values of integrity, innovation, and service, it serves its students with the support of various faculty and staff. ISC-Kisangani offers undergraduate and graduate programs in business sciences, computer science, secretariat, customs, banking, and insurance, while research is driven by its Centre for Applied Financial Economics. The campus features modern auditoria, ICT labs, a library, health and sports facilities, and benefits from national partnerships that foster academic collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Sustainability at ISC-Kisangani

The Higher Institute of Commerce of Kisangani is committed to embedding sustainability throughout its mission, integrating the principles of social equity, environmental stewardship, and economic resilience into teaching, research, campus life, and community outreach. In its curriculum and learning experiences, students are encouraged to explore sustainable business models, ethical finance, and responsible technology aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Research priorities emphasize inclusive growth, resource-efficient practices, and local economic development. On campus, sustainability shapes culture through awareness, energy-efficient infrastructure, waste management and participatory governance. Beyond its walls, ISC-Kisangani engages with local communities and partners to promote sustainable development, reinforcing its role as a socially responsible institution.
