About
Founded in 1988, the Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) is a public university in Zimbabwe dedicated to innovation-driven education and the commercialization of technology. With 5000 students and 230 full-time staff, HIT’s mission centres on developing technopreneurial leaders guided by core values of innovation, integrity, professionalism, and leadership. The university offers 42 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across key areas including Engineering, Applied Sciences, Technology, and Business. Its research focuses on technology development, industrial innovation, biotechnology, renewable energy, and manufacturing systems. With modern laboratories, innovation hubs, and strong industry and international partnerships, HIT supports applied research and entrepreneurship aligned with national development goals.
