Biruni University was founded in 2014 by the Dünya Education Foundation to create a health-focused institution grounded in scientific thinking, research, and international collaboration. Named after the celebrated polymath Al-Biruni, the university reflects his spirit of inquiry and universality. It offers more than 90 programs across six faculties, a graduate school, and a vocational school, preparing students for careers in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, health sciences, education, and engineering.
Committed to educational innovation, Biruni applies proprietary learning models like BirBilginOl and BirDeHa to foster lasting knowledge, cognitive development, and active student engagement. It maintains strong international partnerships through Erasmus+ and bilateral agreements, facilitating academic exchange and collaboration across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa. Biruni also takes part in major education platforms such as NAFSA and EAIE.
As a health and life sciences university, Biruni integrates advanced technology into its teaching hospitals and laboratories, ensuring both high-quality patient care and hands-on learning. Sustainability is embedded across all university operations, from energy efficiency and waste reduction to inclusive education and social responsibility. Its international student body of over 3,000 learners from more than 75 countries reflects its commitment to pluralism and global citizenship. Biruni prepares graduates to be socially responsible leaders, contributing to sustainable development both locally and globally.
