About SUN Thailand 

The Sustainable University Network of Thailand (SUN Thailand) is a collaborative network of Thai higher education institutions dedicated to advancing sustainability. It was established in 2016 by a group of founding universities to promote sustainable development in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SUN Thailand provides a platform for universities to exchange knowledge, share best practices, develop sustainability standards, and collaborate on research, education, and campus management. The network has grown from its original founding members to include more than 60 universities across Thailand. Leadership rotates among member universities, with a chairperson serving a fixed term. In 2026–2027, the network is chaired by Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President of Siam University. Through annual conferences, workshops, and regional partnerships, SUN Thailand helps strengthen sustainability leadership throughout Thailand’s higher education sector.
