European Reform University Alliance (ERUA)

The European Reform University Alliance (ERUA) is a consortium of eight European reform universities that work together to develop more innovative, inclusive, and socially engaged approaches to higher education. As part of the European Universities Initiative, ERUA supports the development of the European Education Area while promoting universities as spaces for critical thinking, experimentation, democratic engagement, and sustainability. Its work brings students, academics, researchers, civil society actors, and local communities into shared conversations about major societal challenges. Through projects such as the ERUA Collaborative Open Space, the alliance creates opportunities for dialogue, co-creation, student learning, social innovation, and community-based collaboration. In this way, ERUA goes beyond institutional cooperation and positions higher education as a tool for building more just, open, and sustainable societies.
