In November 2023, NIMS University in Rajasthan (India) established the Global Centre for Sustainable Development (GCSD) to advance its commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each college within NIMS has created a plan to build three employment-oriented skills, fostering empowerment and financial stability. Launching with “No Poverty Month,” NIMS initiated activities like village adoption, skill-training, and donation drives. Representatives of NIMS emphasized education’s transformative role, collective action against climate change, and the university’s mission to promote sustainable innovation and environmental stewardship.

The university adopted 10 priority goals:

  • No Poverty
  • Zero Hunger
  • Good Health and Well-Being
  • Quality Education
  • Gender Equality
  • Clean Water and Sanitation
  • Affordable and Clean Energy
  • Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
