Close-to-Nature Forestry Training School

From 19 August to 1 September 2024, researchers from the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine participated in a Close-to-Nature Forestry Training School at the Bern University of Applied Sciences, School of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences (BFH-HAFL) in Switzerland. The training focused on sustainable forest management, forest governance, digital tools, field-based learning and nature-based approaches to strengthening forest resilience. By supporting knowledge exchange on close-to-nature forestry, the initiative contributes to climate adaptation, biodiversity protection and the development of practical strategies for Ukraine’s post-war forest recovery.
