CA (Copernicus Alliance) Exchange: Rethinking ESD sessions

Transformative learning in higher education, especially in education for sustainable development (ESD), requires new approaches to assessment. How can meaningful learning be assessed while still providing valid marks? This interactive session will explore how assessment can better support transformative learning and sustainability-focused education.

Two student-centered assessment approaches from the US and France will be examined, where students contributed to creating personalized rubrics. These examples will inspire ideas on how to adapt assessment processes to various cultural and learning contexts.
