ASU Advances Sustainability in Engineering Education

Applied Science University (ASU) reaffirmed its sustainability commitment on International Day of Clean Energy by embedding the Net Zero goal into its engineering education. Dr. Mohamed Salama, Dean of the College of Engineering, emphasized the need to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, and ASU is responding by updating curricula to incorporate renewable energy, energy storage, sustainable construction, and green transportation. Collaborating with London South Bank University, ASU offers dual-award engineering programmes (Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic), fostering student readiness to design smart, decarbonized cities. Students in these programmes have also earned recognition — notably for best graduation projects from local professional bodies.
