2026 GBA-ASEAN Conference

The GBA–ASEAN Conference 2026 on Energy Transition and Integration will take place on 29–30 July 2026 at Sunway Resort and Sunway University in Malaysia. Organized as part of the GBA–ASEAN Initiative, the event will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and experts from across ASEAN and China to explore pathways for regional cooperation on sustainable energy and economic integration. 

The GBA–ASEAN Initiative, proposed by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), seeks to strengthen economic, technological, academic, and cultural ties between China’s Greater Bay Area and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Alongside the conference, participants will engage in workshops, site visits, and the Asia-based launch of the Sustainable Development Report 2026. The initiative supports SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
