Swedish Biodiversity Symposium 2025 - Open for registration!

Registration is now open for the inaugural Swedish Biodiversity Symposium, convened by the University of Gothenburg (UG)! This event, scheduled for October 21-23, 2025, at the Wallenberg Konferenscentrum, will unite researchers, policymakers, and organizations to explore the latest advancements in biodiversity science and conservation, with a specific focus on co-designing restoration pilots for degraded boreal woodland.

Coordinated by the Gothenburg Global Biodiversity Centre, the symposium program was announced in April 2025 and builds upon citizen-science webinars taking place in May 2025. In addition to fostering crucial dialogue and collaboration, the University will host a "Forest Futures" pop-up exhibition on campus, further enriching the symposium experience.

Important Dates:

• May 15, 2025: Deadline for abstract submission.
• June 16, 2025 (tentative): Decision on abstract.
• August 18, 2025: Deadline for early registration.
• September 15, 2025: Deadline for late registration.
• October 21-23, 2025: Dates of Symposium.
