The Living Lab Initiative at Adamas University
On 6 August 2025, the Department of Geography at Adamas University, in collaboration with the University of Chester (UK), launched a new Living Lab dedicated to biodiversity conservation, sustainability innovation, and experiential environmental learning. The event featured expert talks on sustainability and disaster management, along with guided tours of advanced research facilities, fostering dialogue and academic collaboration. More than an academic project, the Living Lab is envisioned as a dynamic space where researchers, students, and community partners co-create solutions to real environmental challenges.
Why Living Labs Matter:
Living Labs are powerful platforms that bridge theory and practice. They provide a real-world testing ground where students learn by doing, researchers apply innovation to local issues, and communities actively participate in shaping sustainable futures. By encouraging interdisciplinary problem-solving, citizen science, and industry partnerships, Living Labs accelerate sustainable development and climate resilience. They also support universities in advancing the SDGs by generating practical, scalable solutions that benefit both the campus and surrounding society.
