The IEA 2025 Energy Progress Report and SDG 7 Database
Published on 25 June 2025, the annual Tracking SDG7: The Energy Progress Report 2025 was jointly produced by the International Energy Agency (IEA), the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), the World Bank, and the World Health Organization (WHO). This report has become a cornerstone for information on the progress toward achieving SDG 7, as it provides information on global access to electricity, renewable energy, and updates statistics on SDG 7 indicators.
The report monitors global progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 7, which aims to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all by 2030. It assesses developments in electricity access, clean cooking, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and international cooperation.
