Global University Presidents’ Forum on ESD

As part of its 70th anniversary celebrations, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) hosted the Global University Presidents’ Forum on October 6, themed “Education for Sustainable Development: the Role of Higher Education.” Leaders from 12 renowned universities and organizations worldwide shared insights on the challenges and opportunities of sustainable development in higher education. HUST Chair Li Yuanyuan highlighted the university’s history, mission, and commitment to sustainable growth, while President You Zheng emphasized interdisciplinary innovation, service to national and local needs, and global cooperation. Participants agreed on the importance of collaboration, innovation, and resilient strategies to advance sustainable education and contribute to global progress.
