EWORA Position paper on value-led leadership and gender equality
The European Women Rectors Association (EWORA) just released a new EWORA position paper, co-authored by Prof. Kerstin Tham, President of EWORA & Former Vice Chancellor of Malmö University and Prof. Pamela Gillies, EWORA Board Member & Former Vice Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University.
The paper emphasizes the critical role of values-led leadership in fostering inclusive, equitable environments. It calls for the strengthening of gender equality policies and highlights the necessity of institutional accountability in driving meaningful change. By reflecting on best practices and personal experiences, the paper provides a framework for creating sustainable leadership pathways for women in higher education, ensuring that gender equity remains at the heart of institutional development.
This work serves as both a reflection of progress and a call to action for continued transformation, and will be fundamental to the discussions at the upcoming EWORA Conference in Lisbon in June 2025.
