4th National Recycling Day

On May 17, Siglo 21 University, together with the Agencia para el Desarrollo Económico (ADEC) and the Cámara de Industrias Plásticas de Córdoba (CIPC), held the 4th National Recycling Conference to mark the World Recycling Day. The event, hosted at the Nueva Córdoba campus with strong attendance from public, private, and academic sectors, aimed to promote circular economy practices, the 4Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle, recover), and citizen responsibility in plastic recycling. 

Key topics included waste management, Extended Producer Responsibility (REP), ecodesign, and strategies to encourage recycling. Speakers such as Mgter. Leticia Masfarré and Mgter. Carolina Ulla emphasized the educational value of sustainability, while Álvaro Mujica of TriCiclos S.A. (Chile) highlighted the importance of REP laws that make producers accountable for the lifecycle of their products. The conference also featured business leaders, government authorities, and workshops on converting waste into energy and fostering conscious consumption, underscoring the need to instill sustainable habits from an early age.
