Founded in February 2010 in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, the University of Donja Gorica (UDG) is a private institution of higher education recognized for its multidisciplinary academic offer and forward-looking educational philosophy. With 12 faculties and 18 study programs, UDG engages over 300 professors, researchers, and associates who work across a wide spectrum of disciplines.
UDG positions itself as a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and research in the Western Balkans. Its commitment to fostering entrepreneurial mindsets among students is embedded in both academic programming and extracurricular initiatives. The university actively cultivates a learning environment that encourages adaptability and innovation in response to the evolving global landscape of technology, business, and sustainability.
The university has built strong ties with leading companies in Montenegro, including “13. jul Plantaže” (a major regional producer of wine and brandy), Azmont Investments, Goranović (meat industry), and Lazine (dairy production), enabling students to gain practical experience and collaborate on real-world projects.
The university offers all three levels of higher education: undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies.
In 2022, UDG joined the Global Alliance and partnered with Arizona State University, one of the United States’ leading institutions in innovation. This collaboration aims to strengthen UDG’s role as a center for innovation, internationalization, and educational transformation in the Balkans. Through this partnership, UDG is expanding opportunities for students and faculty while enhancing the overall quality and global relevance of its academic offerings.
