Center for Climate Change, Natural Resources, and Energy

The Center for Climate Change, Natural Resources and Energy at the University of Donja Gorica (UDG) is a scientific, research and educational institution committed to addressing the growing challenges of climate change and environmental degradation. Founded in 2017 with the strong support of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Rajendra K. Pachauri, then Chair of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the Center has since developed into a key contributor to sustainability efforts in the region.

The Center’s work is rooted in applied research and guided by scientific data. It supports the implementation of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans, particularly Chapter 27 on Environment and Climate Change and Cluster 4 on Green Agenda and Sustainable Mobility.

Its mission is to integrate the major trends of the Green Agenda into the principles of economic growth and development. This is achieved through a multidisciplinary approach focused on research, education, innovation and public engagement.

The Center also maintains a wide external network of experts across various fields including economics, biology, chemistry, physics, geography, sociology, law, engineering and information technology. It works in close collaboration with stakeholders from the business community and the media to support informed, cross-sectoral action on environmental and climate issues.
