Guide to Sustainable Procurement and Waste Disposal at Universities

The research project ‘Regional Pathways to Climate-Neutral Universities’ (REKLINEU) addresses the pressing challenges of climate change. The aim is to reduce, avoid and offset greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the university environment by combining approaches from the natural sciences, humanities and engineering. The work package ‘Sustainability in Purchasing, Procurement and Waste Disposal’ is being developed by the Institute for Applied Logistics at THWS and aims to produce this ‘Guide to Sustainable Procurement and Waste Disposal at Universities’ (LNBE).

The guide is intended to provide content-related assistance for sustainable procurement and waste disposal. To this end, exclusively developed content from the REKLINEU project will be made available, such as a supplier self-assessment with a rating scheme, practical examples – e.g. disposal and administrative transformation, sustainable procurement – and sustainability building blocks for a procurement policy.
