Trinity College Dublin Launches 2025 Annual Sustainability Report

We welcome you to read Trinity College Dublin's newly released Annual Sustainability report for 2025. The report emphasises how the university's sustainability actions directly relate to its mission of addressing climate and biodiversity challenges through education, research, operations, and community engagement. This is reflected in a whole-institution approach that embeds sustainability across strategy, teaching, and daily practices.

The university operationalizes its vision - to be ''a university, a place, and a community where climate change and biodiversity loss are addressed in a holistic, integrated and health-focused way to protect and restore our planetary home for future generations'' through concrete, multi-level initiatives. Such efforts include integrating sustainability into curricula (e.g. mandatory interdisciplinary modules and working with Responsible Futures), advancing research through Green Labs and climate-focused leadership, and transforming campus operations via energy efficiency, circular economy practices, biodiversity restoration, and sustainable travel plans.

At the community and institutional level, Trinity strengthens impact through staff training in climate leadership, international partnerships, and student-led initiatives such as Green Week and reuse programmes. These efforts align with strategic targets like net-zero emissions by 2040, a nature-positive campus by 2030, and promoting health and wellbeing, demonstrating how sustainability is embedded across its mission, vision, and long-term development pathway.
