New Sulitest study: Transforming Higher Education Institutions: The Role of Strategic Leadership and Academic Governance

Sulitest has recently published a new study titled ''Transforming Higher Education Institutions: The Role of Strategic Leadership and Academic Governance''.

This study investigates how institutional sustainability ambitions are translated into practice through curriculum development and implementation. It focuses on the experiences and perspectives of those involved in academic decision-making, including program directors, institutional leaders, and governance bodies responsible for designing and revising academic programs. The study also examines the stages of curriculum development, the frameworks and tools that support the integration of Education for Sustainability (EfS), and the key challenges and enabling factors that influence the successful incorporation of sustainability into higher education programs. Findings indicate that embedding sustainability throughout an institution is not linear but rather an "iterative and embedded [...] multi-layered process'', emphasising the need for active leadership, engaged faculty, supportive governance mechanisms to advance sustainability.
