Opportunity to participate in international survey of student attitudes towards sustainability
The National Union of Students in the UK is conducting a study about sustainabiliy among students, be part of it!
over the last eight years NUS-UK has surveyed over 50,000 students on their attitudes towards, and expectations on, sustainable development. One of the headline findings is that, consistently, 60% of students, regardless of discipline, want to learn more about sustainable development. This longitudinal data has been transformational for many of us here in the UK, levering both influence and funding to support the learning for sustainability agenda
Because the data has been so transformational for us, we are now in the process of doing a slimmed-down version for the survey internationally with some partners, with the long-term aim of us being able to show the students around the World want to learn more about sustainable development. See attached for the questions we will be asking. The survey will be an online survey that has been designed for students participating in higher education. The fieldwork is planned from 19 February to 18 March 2018, although it can be promoted at any time during that window. So far we have the following countries on board t:
- Austria
- Australia
- Bangladesh
- Belgium
- Bermuda
- Canada
- Cyprus
- Denmark
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Greece
- Ireland
- UK
- USA
If you would like to join the list, and can promote the survey to generic students (not just those interested in sustainability), either locally at your institution, or regionally / nationally, then please contact Rachel Drayson Rachel.Drayson@nus.org.uk by the end of next week so she can set up a survey page that you to promote to your students. The more the merrier, and multiple partners in a country is fine, and it is not just restricted to the EU.
