Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Call for contribution
The new agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted in September 2015: 17 integrated and indivisible Goals with 169 associated targets form part of the Global Agenda to be developed, implemented and achieved by 2030. This 15 year plan aims to guide the international community and national governments on a pathway towards a more sustainable, equal and just world.
Education appears as an intrinsically crosscutting tool linked to promote, fulfill and maintain the proposed goals. The IAU, as an official Member of the Partner Networks of the UNESCO Global Action Programme on ESD, continues its work promoting Higher Education role in Developemnt, as has done since 1993 and according to the principles of the Kyoto Declaration on Sustainable Development.
On behalf of the IAU President and the HEforSD Working Group, IAU invites you to take part in this renewed global effort. We invite you to send in activities, actions, events and initiatives developed by you or your partners regarding Higher Education for Sustainable Development so these can acquire greater visibility via the IAU Global Portal on HEforSD.
