Call for proposals “Practical and transformational solutions for sustainable development in the Mediterranean”
The University of Siena and the SDSN launch a competition among researchers/practitioners and students and call for the most practical and transformational solutions for sustainable development in the Mediterranean.
Call
The Solutions Initiatives should be practical project proposals involving novel technologies, business models, institutional mechanisms, and/or policies that are promising, innovative and not yet developed. They should address a well-defined set of problems, have a transformative impact on sustainable development and be scalable, following a successful demonstration. They must be technically feasible and implementable within a reasonable timeframe and should not require primary research.
Conference
The teams proposing the most promising solutions will be invited to present their ideas at the Siena Conference on the 3-5 July 2013 during which the University of Siena will convene leading scholars, students and practitioners from around the Mediterranean Region to identify and launch transformative solutions in the Mediterranean Region.
