Community Awareness Camp on Malaria Prevention

On 2 May 2025, The Placebo Club from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Desh Bhagat University organized a community awareness camp focused on malaria education and prevention. Held near the university campus, the event brought together students, faculty, and local residents to strengthen public understanding of malaria and the importance of early action.

The program opened with an educational session explaining how malaria is transmitted through the bite of infected Anopheles mosquitoes, emphasizing the need for early diagnosis and timely treatment. Students led demonstrations on practical prevention methods such as the use of mosquito nets, repellents, and eliminating stagnant water to reduce mosquito breeding grounds. Informative pamphlets were distributed throughout the community, along with access to free health check-ups and counseling.

To ensure community engagement, the camp included interactive activities like quizzes and role-plays that reinforced key messages in a lively and memorable format. Participants ended the event by taking a pledge to uphold cleanliness and adopt preventive habits in daily life.
