Sustainable Development Goals

The Makerere University Business School (MUBS), is working closely with the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie(AUF) to reinforce the objectives of the SDG 5. It intends to integrate the gender dimension and the promotion of gender equality for the benefit of its staff, its students and its environment. One of its deliverables is therefore to support and enable the growth of entrepreneurship and leadership for equality between women and men.

Since its creation MUBS facilitates professional development, promotes entrepreneurship and leadership in the region, and equips women with entrepreneurial and leadership skills to gain financial independence and access to leadership. The Management of MUBS considers that leadership is necessary to transform society and that it has the mission of empowering its public. To create an enabling environment for this transformation, Makerere University Business School provides continuous education and support to female students through the provision of scholarships. Thus, the Forum supports vulnerable girls to pursue higher education with more than ten girls having benefited from this program during the year 2021. On the other hand, the Forum promotes female success in its environment (both students and professors).
The Women's Forum organizes professional orientation seminars in universities and high schools to enable female students to build their careers by inviting, for example, female role models during the "Career and Reintegration" seminar to advise students, offer career and external counseling services to better prepare young people for their professional life.
