Sustainable Development Goals

Smart and green cities are among the key trends for the sustainable development of future cities. Many cities in China have started promoting smart and green cities, with an association of smart tourist cities having been established in Suzhou, Nanjing, Changzhou, Wuxi, Zhenjiang, Yangzhou and Nantong.

Smart cities is the primary research focus for the Research Institute for Smart and Green Cities, following the strategy of human-oriented coordination between urban and rural areas, green and intelligent, and synchronised four modernisations with Chinese characteristics. The Institute integrates international expertise and resources in a number of areas at XJTLU, aiming to meet the needs of Suzhou and Suzhou Industrial Park.
