Every day, the Catholic University of Louvain confirms its commitment towards sustainable development and social responsibility, including the entire university community, including the mobilization of students, researchers, teachers and staff members. An action plan has been implemented since 2010 to coordinate all initiatives taken by members of the university community and to insure that the university remains consistent with its community values.
The goal: to make sure that the University is an actor in the transition towards a sustainable world and ensure that this transition is also occurring within its own walls.
Four axes, nine projects:
-The first three axes concern a commitment to sustainable development values through,
an internal network of partners at six university sites;
dialogue with partners starting with the university-city relationship;
innovations in academic work that supports sustainable development.
-The fourth axis is the creation of a repository that will measure the impact of the action plan and will visualize its progress over time.
Capitalize on sound values: One will be able to observe the interesting initiatives that have emerged under this action plan through an overall inventory of the actions undertaken by the University. One of nine projects proposed is to highlight the initiatives that are successful, have been successful, and could be successful in the future.
Be in constant dialogue: The development and implementation of this action plan requires the mobilization of all members of the community.
