In terms of global energy and environmental issues, direct solutions are imperative inreducing energy consumption, expanding available resources, and decreasing our impact on the environment. Extensive research and development are essential in creating urgent breakthroughs in the field of renewable energy applications. This enormous challenge requires a multi-disciplinary approach, in close collaboration with governments, industry and consumers. The Green Energy Initiative (GEI) aims to strengthen the collaboration between the various scientific disciplines in renewable energy research at the University of Twente. In particular, the pairing of technological innovation with new organisational and governance approaches will promote the successful implementation of these innovative techniques.
Green Course Finder: GEI has put together all UT courses which focus on or are related to sustainability within the Green Course Finder. You are able to find suitable courses with the use of different selection criteria. You are able to filter based on Master or Bachelor level, quartile, and area of study. The courses are assigned a certain number of “leaves” ranging from 1-3 based on their “greenness.” There are currently close to 60 different courses listed.
GEI mini lectures: The Green Energy Initiative issued a series of interactive mini lectures on sustainable energy. In these mini lectures, scientists at the University of Twente explain in approximately three minutes the focus of their research.
