Sustainability Committee of Western Caspian University

Western Caspian University has established a Sustainability Committee dedicated to fostering an environmentally conscious campus culture. The mission is to integrate sustainability principles into all aspects of university life, ensuring that our operations, teaching, research, and community engagement activities contribute to a sustainable future. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to participate in the sustainability initiative to making a positive impact on the campus and the wider community. 

Main Objectives:

• Promote Environmental Awareness: Educate and engage the university community
  sustainability issues through workshops, seminars, and events.
• Implement Sustainable Practices: Develop and implement policies and practices that reduce the
  environmental impact of university operations.
• Support Research and Innovation: Encourage and support research initiatives that address
  sustainability challenges.
• Enhance Community Engagement: Collaborate with local and global partners to promote
  sustainability beyond the campus.

Key Initiatives:

• Sustainable Procurement Policy: Ensuring that all university purchases align with ours
  commitment to environmental responsibility.
• Carbon Reduction Targets: Setting ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line
  with global standards.
• Sustainability in Curriculum: Integrating sustainability topics into academic programs to prepare
  students for leadership in a sustainable future.
