Seminar on "ESG, Supply Chain Sustainability and Development Rights"

In October 2024, Nankai University hosted the “ESG, Supply Chain Sustainable Responsibility and Development Rights Seminar” at its Jinnan Campus as part of its 105th anniversary. Organized by the Human Rights Research Center and the School of Law, with support from industry and academic partners, the eight-hour seminar featured five modules covering ESG standards, global trends in sustainable due diligence legislation, and their impact on the right to development. Experts from universities, industries, NGOs, and government agencies discussed corporate responsibility, human rights, gender equality, supply chain due diligence, and challenges of international regulation. The event emphasized the importance of aligning ESG with development rights, fostering collaboration across sectors, and encouraging innovation in theory and practice to advance sustainable development.
