New UNESCO IESALC publication: Higher Education Global Trends Report
On May 12, 2026, the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO IESALC) published a new global trends report: ''Higher Education Global Trends Report: Towards Inclusive, Equitable and Quality Higher Education''. The report examines major developments shaping higher education worldwide. Drawing on data from nearly 150 countries, it explores issues such as access, equity, governance, financing, digital transformation, student mobility, and academic freedom. Its purpose is to provide policymakers, institutions, and stakeholders with evidence-based insights that can support more inclusive, resilient, and future-oriented higher education systems aligned with sustainable development goals
